About Trenton Florida
Trenton Florida is a small, quaint, peaceful community with the convenience of the city life, only a short distance away. The rapidly growing, upscale town of Newberry is less than 15 minutes away. Gainesville, where you will find a wide array of shopping, dinning, clubs, hospitals and activities, is only a 30 minute drive. Trenton is in close proximity to Cedar Key and the gulf, while still being a safe distance inland away from hurricanes.

The Gilchrist County School District which consists of Trenton Elementary, Bell Elementary, Trenton Middle/High School and Bell Middle/High School is the first school district in the history of Florida to receive an “A” at every school.
Trenton Florida Elementary School
Trenton Florida Elementary School boasts an “A” school grade and rates at an 8 on the rating scale. In 2006 the school surpassed the state average by more than 10% on the FCAT test in 3rd grade alone! In fourth grade math, the school once again surpassed the state average, but this time by nearly 20%. FCAT tests proved that 77% of Trenton 5th graders were at or above the grade level in reading, 50% in science and 63% in math which was above the state average by as much as 15%!
Further studies showed that Trenton Florida Elementary School teachers spent an average of 12 years teaching, 29% have an advanced degree and the student to teacher ratio is 16. There have been no incidents of violent acts, vandalism, weapon possession, alcohol, tobacco, and drug possession, fighting and harassment, or any other nonviolent incidents and disorderly conduct. The spending per student is $6,132 which also exceeds the state average.
Trenton Florida Middle – High School
In addition to Trenton Florida Elementary School, Trenton Florida High School also boasts an “A” grade and rates an 8 out of 10. The FCAT scores are substantially higher (by as much as 24%) than the state average in 12 out of 16 of the categories in 2006! The high school graduation rate is 80% which is 8% above the state average and the dropout rate is only 3%. Only 8% of students were absent from high school more than 21 days and only 4% from middle school, as opposed to 15% from high school and 11% from middle school in the state wide average. Combined student-staff ratios also surpass state averages; Trenton’s student to staff ratio is 270, as opposed to the state average of 803, which indicates that students are more likely to receive the help and guidance they may require.
Trenton Florida Parks
Gilchrist County, Florida is home to almost ten natural water parks that are open year round for the public to enjoy. Hart Springs and Otter Springs are two family oriented recreational areas located directly in the vicinity of Trenton/Bell. Between these two natural water parks, there are activities for the entire family such as; hiking, camping, boat rentals, picnic areas, volleyball, cave diving, and more.
